To spend N4 billion on Dadin Kowa Dam‬

The Federal Government has entered into an agreement under the public-private partnership with a German firm to construct a 350 megawatts coal power plant in Gombe State. This was made known by Vice President Namadi Sambo, when he visited the project site for the construction of the N4.1 billion Gombe Regional Water Reticulation Project in Kwami Local Government Area of the State on Saturday.‬

According to him, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) were making efforts to explore hydro-carbons in Gombe and Bauchi States.‬ He added that temporarily, the government has approved a 132KVA electricity sub-station to improve power supply in the state.‬

‪On the water project, Sambo said the Federal government will spend N4 billion to upgrade the Dadin Kowa Dam in Gombe State for agriculture purposes.‬

‪According to the vice president, the project would be executed through a scheme in the Ministry of Water Resources, to increase the utility of the dam.‬
